What is the difference between the Halo headset and the Flow headset?

Modified on Wed, 6 Aug at 6:47 PM

The headset hardware and tDCS technology used in both the Halo and Flow headsets is identical. Each delivers a 2mA current to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC). However, their intended uses are different: Halo is a wellness product in the US, while the Flow headset is medically certified for treating depression in the UK and EU.

While the stimulation schedule is the same for both devices, each is managed through its own dedicated app, and the overall user experience differs. The Flow app is specifically designed to support individuals with depression, whereas the Halo app focuses on general wellness and performance. For instance, the weekly check-ins include different types of questions, and the educational content in each app is tailored to its unique purpose.

The Halo headset is not intended for the treatment of depression and should not be used for that purpose. The Flow headset is currently going through the FDA approval process, and we hope to share more news in the future.
